Very beautifully drawn portrait of "Franz" in original frame. Given the date of death and location, the panzermann on the portrait most likely fell during the battle (Kesselschlacht) at Białystok and Minsk, which was fought between 22 June and 9 July 1941 and belonged to Panzergruppe 2 or 3.
