The General Assault Badge was established on 1 June 1940 and could be received by soldiers who could not qualify for the Infantry Assault Badge or Tank Assault Badge.
It was worn on the left chest of the Wehrmacht uniform, but could also be worn on the uniform of the party and state.
To receive the General Assault Badge one had to:
– after January 1, 1940;
– with a weapon in hand
– at 3 attacks on the front;
– and have fought for 3 days.
