Reservistenkrug Kurhessisches Feldartillerie Regiment 11

Beautiful beer mug or Reservistenkrug of the Kurhessisches Feldartillerie Regiment 11 from Kassel with postcard of the same regiment. The beer mug has a pewter lid with a soldier on horseback and a pewter eagle near the hinge on the handle. The beer mug has really been used, which can be seen from the wear of the "print" on the handle. The card has a small tear at the bottom, but this is not clearly visible.

The Kurhessisches Feldartillerie-Regiment 11 was an artillery regiment of the German Army that was mainly active during the First World War. “Kurhessisches” refers to the Electorate of Hesse-Kassel, which was a historical state in Germany before it was incorporated into the German Empire.

This regiment took part in several battles and operations during World War I, including the Battle of Verdun, the Battle of the Somme and the Battle of the Hindenburg Line. The regiment's soldiers mainly came from the Hesse region and surrounding areas.

After World War I, the regiment was disbanded as a result of the provisions of the Treaty of Versailles. The Kurhessisches Feldartillerie-Regiment 11 played an important role in the military history of Germany during the First World War, and the veterans of this regiment were later involved in various veterans' associations and commemoration activities.
