Beautiful photo album of Sanitäts Feldwebel Wilhelm Meier of the Fliegerhorst-Kommandantur E 9/XII from Le Mans. Wilhelm died on November 11, 1941 as a result of a skull fracture as a result of a car accident. After his death, this album was compiled for or by his children. All of Wilhelm's original awards, including the Iron Cross 2nd Class 1914/18 and the Kriegsverdienstkreuz 2nd Klasse mit Schwertern 1939, are pasted in the front of the album (some have come loose). There are also photos of his funeral and grave in Le Mans. Wilhelm was later interred in the German War Cemetery Mont-de-Huisnes (Normandy) France.
The album comes complete with all documentation as can be seen in the photos.
A special and very beautiful album that you rarely come across.
