Beautiful small size Goldenes Ehrenzeichen der NSDAP (Golden Badge of Honor of the NSDAP) with a diameter of 24 mm manufactured by the company Deschler & Sohn from Munich. This specific pin is numbered 94266, unfortunately the wearer is (not yet) known.

This Golden Decoration of the NSDAP was, after the "Blutorden" and "Deutschen Orden der NSDAP" one of the highest awards of the NSDAP. There are eight variants of the pin, four with a diameter of 30 millimeters and four with a diameter of 24 millimeters.

The “large version” was worn on all service uniforms of the NSDAP and its branches, as well as on military uniforms and civilians at public events on the “society suit”. The “small version” had to be worn if the “large version” was deemed inappropriate or if there was no possibility to use it.

There were two reasons for an award:

1. a membership number of less than 100.000 issued on October 1, 1928 and continuous party membership, or
2. an award for "special merits". The recipients of the award thus became members of the party. This also applied to active military personnel who, according to the applicable military laws, were not allowed to be members of a party.

When awarded to people with a low batch number (so-called “old fighters”), this was engraved on the back of the badge. If the wearer had received the gold badge of honor, "AH" for Adolf Hitler and the award date embedded on the back.
