The Belgian War Cross with Palm Leaf or Croix de Guerre avec Palme Eclat d'Obus, was established by Royal Decree on October 25, 1915 (War Cross 1914-1918) and renewed on July 20, 1940 by the Belgian government that had fled to London (War Cross 1940-1945) . The War Cross was awarded for acts of bravery against the enemy.
This medal has a bronze palm on the ribbon, this represents an entry in the army day order.
