In December 1934, the NSDAP (National Socialist Party) established the first “Tag der Deutsche Polizei” which was held until the year 1944.
During two days, all kinds of things were sold, the proceeds of which were used to raise funds for the WHW (Winter Heilfswerk). During the war, the WHW also took care of collecting clothing and types of comfort to send to the soldiers at the front. WHW worked under the control of the “NS-Volkswohlfahrt” (National Socialist Organization for Welfare).
This badge was given in exchange for a donation in the year 1942. Made of zinc, with a width of 28 mm and a height of 25 mm. It represents the symbol of the police as introduced on June 25, 1936, with an eagle with spread wings inserted in an oval crown of oak leaves and a cartouche at the bottom with the year "1942". The back has a horizontal pin and is marked “ST.13”.
