Silver teaspoon of the so-called informal cutlery used by Adolf Hitler. This cutlery was made by the Bruckmann company from Heilbronn and is made of 800 silver with the state eagle on the spoon flanked by the A and H.

There are several theories as to where and when informally patterned cutlery was used. The author of the book “The Encyclopedia of Third Reich Tableware” claims on page 615 that the informal design was used in the “Adlerhorst” (The Eagle's Nest), Hitler's Tea House and would have been used for lunches. There are also people who say that it was used in Hitler's Munich apartment at Prinzregentenplatz no.16. and the Braunhaus, the official headquarters of the NSDAP on Briennerstrasse. About 1000 pieces were made, less than the “formal” cutlery (approx. 3300).

Most of these items can be found in the United States as they were often taken by American soldiers as war booty, as can clearly be seen in the series “Band of Brothers”.
