The Brodie helmet, also known as the "steel helmet" or "tin hat", was an iconic helmet used by British and Allied forces during the First World War and the Second World War. Here are some features of the Brodie helmet:

The Brodie helmet was made of pressed steel and had a distinctive round shape with a convex top. At the front of the helmet was a raised edge, called a flange, which was designed to protect the wearer from downward blows and shards.

The Brodie helmet was designed by John Leopold Brodie, an engineer and officer in the British Army, and introduced in 1915. The design was inspired by the helmets worn by miners in the United Kingdom and was intended to protect soldiers' heads from shrapnel and falling debris. It was one of the first modern helmets used by the military and offered considerably more protection than the earlier cloth caps and hats.
