An original worn British Army Field Service Cap from 1941 in good condition.
This cap pattern was introduced to the British Army shortly before the start of the Second World War and was used throughout the conflict.
The original stamps are still present on the inside of the hat and are clear and easy to read. The cap is stamped with a manufacturer's stamp 'Empire Cap Works Ltd' with the War Department arrow pointing up, the date 1941 and the size 6 7/8.
In addition, there is a War Department acceptance stamp, above which is the letter 'P' and below that the number 436
The copper eye for the hook is missing on one side, but otherwise the cap is in excellent condition and an asset to any collector.
