US Army Khaki Garrison Cap – Infantry/Paratrooper

US Army Khaki Garrison Cap with the blue piping of Infantry/Paratrooper. The cap still has the original labels.

The US Army Khaki Garrison Cap, also known as the “Overseas Cap” or “Flight Cap,” was a headgear worn by the United States military, especially during World War I and World War II. The Khaki Garrison Cap was made of lightweight khaki fabric. Insignia, such as rank insignia or a division emblem, could be attached to the front of the Garrison Cap.

During World War II, the Khaki Garrison Cap was worn by American soldiers participating in the Allied invasions of Normandy, Italy, and other operations. It was a recognizable part of the uniform and can be seen in many historical photographs of American soldiers from that era.
