Unmarked Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939 without maker's mark, but made with Steinhauer & Luck parts. The cross has some rust spots due to poor storage. At the same time, this gives the Iron Cross a beautifully authentic appearance.

The Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939 was instituted on September 1, 1939, the day Germany invaded Poland and the war began.

The Iron Cross 2nd Class was awarded for courage and bravery in the field, and it was intended for both military personnel and civilians who distinguished themselves by extraordinary acts or courage during combat situations. The criteria for receiving this award were broad, and it could be awarded to individuals from all ranks and branches of the German military.

Many German servicemen were awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class for their involvement in the early military campaigns of World War II, particularly during the Blitzkrieg in Poland in 1939 and the subsequent invasions of other European countries. It was one of the most common decorations in the German army during the war. In total, approximately 3 million have been granted.
