Wiederholungsspange 1939 EK2 – Deumer L/11 in LDO box

Very nice Wiederholungsspange for the Iron Cross 2. class, marked on the back with L/11 for Wilhelm Deumer from Lüdenscheid in the original LDO packaging. It is very difficult to photograph the award properly, but in real life it shines even more beautifully.

The “Wiederholungsspange zum Eisernen Kreuz 2. Klasse” was an award awarded to people who had already received the Iron Cross 2nd Class and later performed an equivalent act of courage or merit in the field. Instead of receiving the Iron Cross 2nd Class a second time, this Wiederholungsspange was attached to the ribbon of the existing cross (WW1).

This meant that someone who had already received the Iron Cross 2nd Class and later performed a second, similar feat, received the Wiederholungsspange and attached it to the ribbon of the original Iron Cross 2nd Class. In this way it could be seen that the recipient had been decorated several times for extraordinary actions or courage in the field.
