Matching bayonet for the K98 rifle marked 42 crs, which means that the bayonet was made in 1942 by the company Paul Weyersberg & Co. The bayonet is stamped Waffenamt and is in excellent condition. The leather frog is unmarked and in very good condition.
The K98 rifle, also known as the Karabiner 98k rifle, is a German military bolt-action rifle used during World War II. It is a development of the earlier Mauser Gewehr 98 (Gew 98) rifle and was the standard rifle of the German armed forces from 1935 until the end of World War II in 1945.
The K98 rifle was known for its durability and reliability, which was important on the battlefield.
