Beautiful original copper medal officially "internment medal" with the text on the front: "DETERMINATION 10-14 MAY 1940" and on the back the text: "DIETSCHERS AND GERMANS - DRIVEN TOGETHER BY FATE - UNITED IN DANGER - CONNECTED IN THE FUTURE". The medal has a diameter of 4 cm. The box has the inscription “10-14 MAY 1940”.
The medal “Lotsverbondenheid 10-14 May 1940” was established at the initiative of Anton Mussert in the autumn of 1940. This medal was awarded to members of the National Socialist Movement (NSB) who were interned between 10 and 15 May 1940. The medal served both as a tribute to the internees and to emphasize the close relationship between the NSB and the German occupier. This last aspect was further emphasized by the presentation of three gold medals to Seys-Inquart, Schmidt and Hauptmann Siebel respectively.
In addition to NSB members, Reich Germans who were interned during this period also had the opportunity to receive this medal.
