The Reichsnährstand was an organization created to oversee the agricultural sector. The name can be translated as the “National Food Supply Agency.” It was founded in 1933 under the leadership of Walther Darré, who held the title of Reichsbauernführer (Reich Peasant Leader).

The main goal of the Reichsnährstand was to regulate and control agricultural production, and to mobilize farmers to support food supply objectives. The organization worked closely with other institutions, such as the Ministry of Food and Agriculture.

The Reichsnährstand's job was to organize farmers, regulate prices, set production quotas and ensure that food production met the needs of the Third Reich. Although initially voluntary, participation in the Reichsnährstand later became mandatory for peasants. It was a tool through which the regime exercised control over agricultural production and ensured that it was in line with the ideological and economic objectives of the Nazi regime.
