The Technische Nothilfe, abbreviated as TeNo, was a civilian technical emergency and disaster response organization in Germany. It was founded in 1919 and played an important role during the Weimar Republic and later under the Nazi regime. TeNo's primary purpose was to provide technical assistance and support in the event of disasters, emergencies and civil defense situations.
During the Nazi era, TeNo became increasingly militarized and incorporated into the broader framework of Nazi organizations. It was involved in various activities including air raid protection, fire fighting and other civil defense measures. TeNo also took part in military operations during World War II, especially in occupied territories, where it was involved in tasks such as building fortifications and infrastructure.
