Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939 Schinkelform – Schickle – 1 piece

Iron cross 2nd class 1939 “Schinkelform” made by Otto Schickle from Pforzheim and consists of 1 part. The cross is in very good condition and not magnetic, only there are a few small chips in the core. Still a cross that will be difficult to match!

When Hitler reinstated the Iron Cross on September 1, 1939, manufacturers adopted the most cost-effective solution and initially used their leftover stock of Imperial Iron Cross 1914 frames. The so-called Schinkelform A-type crosses are among the earliest variations and are named after the original designer Karl Friedrich Schinkel (1813).

The Iron Cross 2nd Class was awarded for an act of bravery in the face of the enemy, or actions clearly above and beyond the call of duty.
